Takashi Miike's Arcana Adaptation Casts Tao Tsuchiya As Lead
Takashi Miike, one of Japan’s most prolific – and talented – modern directors has begun casting for his next film. Called Arcana, the film will be based on Yua Kotegawa’s manga of the same name, and had already cast Masataka Nakagauchi as the male lead, Detective Murakami. He will be joined by actress Tao Tsuchiya, who will fill the film’s main role, Maki. Tsuchiya is no stranger to manga adaptations, having recently appeared as Renge in the live-action TV adaptation of Ouran High School Host Club, though this will apparently be her first leading role in a feature film.
And so we got another upcoming film adaptation! (wow, it’s one surprise after another)
Arcana Soul is not really a favorite of mine but to hear that it’s gonna be directed by Takashi Miike blew my frigging mind. That man can turn even the most mediocre horror story into a masterpiece.
