2013’s combined 4th/5th issue of Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine announced on Thursday that a live-action film adaptation of Masaaki Nakayama’s Fuan no Tane (Seeds of Anxiety) horror manga shorts has been green-lit. The film will open next year.
Nakayama launched the omnibus manga series in Akita Shoten’s Champion RED magazine, but the series moved to Weekly Shōnen Champion under the new name Fuan no Tane Plus. The stories usually depict a protagonist whose carefree life is disturbed by an encounter with a mysterious, strange entity.

This chapter of Fuan No Tane actually has some shred of truth. When you were in the middle of fighting between life and death, you see a little light in the darkness. The chance to live will then depend on your inner strength.
“Although it’s not a big deal when the light is on… when I turn it off, something… is there…”
