“Yes I’m a big horror fan and I’m not afraid to admit it. Stephen King has been a major influence on me. Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by all things scary and spooky.I remember spending many hours in elementary school years reading horror novels and watching horror movies. All my friends though I was a freak. Hopefully I was able to channel a bit of that obsession into this manga.

There were a few obstacles during the process of creating this manga. For example, I suffered from severe muscle pain after exploring a cave I had hoped to draw inspiration from. Other problems included an inflamed tendon sheath and me struggling with expressing myself through my artwork. In short, it was not an easy ride.
Nevertheless, I hope “Hideout” will leave a last impression on you, whether positive or negative…”

This guy just described my life and my passion completely. Even if I’m not a horror mangaka, I know it’s not easy since coming up with a masterpiece calls for a risky research. And it was worth it—I totally enjoyed Hideout and I’m so gonna re-read it again today :D
