When I saw the cover, I wasn’t really expecting much of this movie. I think the only reason why I decided to watch this is because Noriko Sakai is the main actress (Kyoko, “The Horror Queen,” from Ju-On: The Grudge 2). But unlike Ju-On, this film is kinda slow-paced and it focuses on plot/character development more than the scares. However, the story is excellently crafted, more creative, clever, and unpredictable that you’ll just find yourself watching this movie until the end. The shocking parts are put in the right places and it balances well with the drama and emotional lines and scenes. I only saw this movie once. I have to watch it again some time.

This is the movie that got me into Japanese Horror. When I was in highschool, I watched this with my friends at 9pm and we were screaming the entire time we’re in the cinema xD There are like a lot of things that scared/disturbed me in this movie but I won’t spoil it (in case somebody hasn’t seen this version yet). And it also made me a bit paranoid that I ended up sleeping at my sister’s room after watching this.
I don’t really think Hollywood is planning to remake this one… which is a good thing cause it’s my favorite out of all the Ju-On movies. It’s also scarier than the previous versions imo.

CURRENTLY WATCHING.
IT’S SO FUCKING MESSED-UP BUT I LOVE IT. I’m adding this in my Asian Horror Movie Recommendations’ list.
Also, it’s more fun to watch this while eating lunch.

Okay, I’ve seen Uzumaki, Long Dream and the Tomie movies… as well as the sub-movies of Mimi No Kaidan in Tales of Terror but LOVESICK DEAD? I totally didn’t expect it. I should search a copy for this movie soon.
Title: Love Ghost (2001)
Synopsis: Teenager Midori’s family moves back to the city where she lived as a child and is relieved to discover that her old friend Ryusuke still lives there. Her terrifying nightmares begin intersecting with her everyday life. Do her nightly dreams about an anonymous fortune-teller have anything to do with the tragedies plaguing her high school?
Based on the synopsis, I am already getting the feeling that they made Midori the main character here xD
